Apple iPhone Pre-Release Non-Details
I find Apple’s pre-release promotional plan for the iPhone to be very interesting:
- There’s no confirmed objective information available. I’ve read some information that supposedly came from a beta user, but who really knows?
- The only public demonstrations have been in highly-controlled environments with preset “scripts.”
- Related to #1, all information to this point has been tightly controlled and comes directly from Apple.
- It’s four days before launch and we don’t even know how much service plans cost yet.
There aren’t many companies other than Apple that could get away with all this without a ton of criticism.

Mark,
iPhone service plans are shown on the apple website. They don’t look to bad considering what I am paying for Verizon.
Chris
They weren’t there yet when I posted this. I’ll go look now…
You’re right. They do look pretty good. Since they all come with unlimited data, I could get by with the $60 plan (I prefer email to actually talking).
That $99 plan is better than what I have with Verizon. Now getting the phone sometime before December may be tough.
