The Downward Spiral

My former employer must be really hard up for American Dollars. They’re now trying to sell stuff off that they didn’t even pay for. Below is an e-mail from the CEO’s assistant that was recently sent to all employees:

We have a cute, lighted, Christmas reindeer for sale. Must be out of the office by tomorrow.

$20.00

First come, first serve.

Hurry and hit your reply button!

If you remember, I bought that reindeer whilst in the throws of a Christmas decoration arms race with the web development department. Of course, we were the undisputed winners.

Due to restrictions in vehicle load capacity on my last day there, I left lucky behind to shine another day. Apparently he has been shined on.

Bye bye Lucky! Thanks for the memories!

Winners? Yes. Undisputed? I think not.

I’m bitter due to lack of real estate space that we had to decorate compared to yours.

    Oh, bye bye Lucky.

    And lack of funds. Pwn3d!

    Some things never change…

Ahh, how sweet. Now he’ll bring Christmas joy to some Costa Rican family too.

  5. John Doom February 21st, 2007 2:30 pm

I doubt any costa rican is going to be spending three months salary on a Blue nosed light-up lucky reindeer.

There’s no bitterness to see here.

    Move along.

Small print at bottom of email: “This reindeer in no way represents any hidden agenda, eplicit or intended, nor does the hidden recording device inside constitute any attempt to reveal the purchaser as a bad seed or viral employee.”

Well, $20 is a month’s salary for someone working in the Cebu (Phillipines) office

You should email the CEO a copy of your purchase receipt. it’s rightfully yours and you should have it back.

    Lucky needs a good home!
