Efficiency

We just received an invoice in the mail from our new landlord for 1 cent.

Yes, someone actually put a 39 cent stamp on a 10 cent envelope containing a 3 cent piece of paper printed on using 60 cents of labor not to mention the operating cost of the laser printer.

Wow.

I’d guess it would be closer to $3 in labor, you do have to lick the envelope…

I really can’t see it taking that long to lick a stamp or the President of the company is doing it.

Maybe you have some pervy method of licking stamps that I’m not aware of.

No I don’t have a “Pervy” method of licking stamps.

It isn’t the licking of the stamp that is the time consuming task. It is the taste in your mouth that causes you to walk to the water cooler for a cold drink. At that time you bump into a group of co-workers talking about the cute, lighted, Christmas reindeer for sale. After 15 wasted minutes of discussion about past employees… the water makes you have to use the bathroom, another few minutes.

Upon returning to your desk you realize after licking the envelope, drinking the water, gossiping, and peeing you forgot to take it down to the mail room. After all the mail room is where the cutest employee works… back to the bathroom to ensure you look your best and down to the mail room where you waste the next 30 minutes flirting with said cute employee. But wait this time is different… Sparks fly, you sneek back to a supply closet… lock the door…

    (porn music)

Two minutes later, you exit with a smile.

So you see, we were both wrong, the labor is much closer to $30.

Oh yeah, I guess I do have a “Pervy” method of licking stamps.

You know, I guess I just didn’t think it all the way through.

    You’re right!

Who is the girl in the mail room, huh Cabe? What the fff…!

  7. Mark MacLeod March 4th, 2007 12:45 pm

We don’t even have a mail room, let alone a cute girl (or any girl for that matter). You know, I guess you just wrote “cute employee” which is gender neutral. Is there something you’d like to take this opportunity to announce?

Let me set the scene of the office mentioned above.

    * Office = Home Office
    * Co-Workers around water cooler = kids around sink
    * Cute Employee = my wife “the boss”
    * “Pervy” method of licking stamps = “Pervy” method of licking stamps
