Firefox on Vista

If anyone is wondering why Firefox doesn’t run on Vista with the Flash Player plugin installed, it’s because you need to do this crap.

Go to c:\Users\[your_username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Mozila Firefox\ and delete xpicleanup.dat.

It will start launching normally.

PS: This of course should be done after killing xpicleanup process in the Task Manager (if needed) and deleting xpicleanup.exe from c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\

Efficiency

We just received an invoice in the mail from our new landlord for 1 cent.

Yes, someone actually put a 39 cent stamp on a 10 cent envelope containing a 3 cent piece of paper printed on using 60 cents of labor not to mention the operating cost of the laser printer.

Wow.

The Downward Spiral

My former employer must be really hard up for American Dollars. They’re now trying to sell stuff off that they didn’t even pay for. Below is an e-mail from the CEO’s assistant that was recently sent to all employees:

We have a cute, lighted, Christmas reindeer for sale. Must be out of the office by tomorrow.

$20.00

First come, first serve.

Hurry and hit your reply button!

If you remember, I bought that reindeer whilst in the throws of a Christmas decoration arms race with the web development department. Of course, we were the undisputed winners.

Due to restrictions in vehicle load capacity on my last day there, I left lucky behind to shine another day. Apparently he has been shined on.

Bye bye Lucky! Thanks for the memories!

I Definitely Smell a Pork Product of Some Sort

I just read Joshua Allen’s post about Putting Anti-Evangelists on Notice and something he wrote didn’t quite sit right with me. He was joking about some supposedly fictitious titles for panel discussions at Mix and I kept thinking to myself, “why does that sound familiar? Think Mark! Think!”

Then it hit me where I’d seen it before. I went to the my archives and pulled out this old periodical and took a picture for proof. Shining the light indeed!
