Big Boy Toys

Sorry for the lack of posts, but we’ve been really busy at work. Which is a good thing.

I went to the Arizona Electric Festival this weekend with my friend, Chris. It’s basically an air show performed with R/C planes. In this case, they were electric-powered ones. There’s also an air show for turbine powered R/C planes coming up in November; which I’ll be sure not to miss.

This was the first R/C air show I’d been to, and it was really cool. We even witnessed a rare mid-air collision. I’m buying an R/C simulator for my computer this week (from Chris) and I’m considering buying an actual plane sometime this year.

The best attraction was in the parking lot, though. I was so excited upon spotting the license plate on this Honda Insight that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get a photo with it:

Ya know a lot of people says to me, “Mobi”…

Why do they have .Mobi domains now? How stupid. Dot Com is where it’s at.

Pwned (kind of)

The result of my trip to the track this weekend to race Aaron.

My first race of the night, narrated by my wife (she couldn’t see the end of the track and initially thought I lost):

The timeslip:

In all fairness, Aaron ran a 13.87 on a subsequent run. I probably could’ve run a 13.4x if it were warmer and I could’ve gotten better traction. The tire squeal in the video is all mine.

The people at the unemployment office are who we thought they were.

It’s about time. Now if the Lions would just take out their trash, it would be a good new year.

Some parting words from Denny Green:
