Fail

OMG what a lousy day I had yesterday. I stayed home from work with my sick kids, and while I was home I decided I would fix the kitchen sink because the faucet was leaking internally. This is a faucet I installed two years ago, mind you.
I completely removed the drain assembly, the reverse osmosis water filter, the garbage disposal and the sink itself. I went to Lowe’s and spent $200 on a Delta faucet because I didn’t want to use the same brand as the broken one (Price Pfister). I replaced the faucet, re-siliconed the sink into the opening, reconnected the water lines, the R.O. system, the disposal, and the drains. I turn it on, and this one leaks under the handle to open the water valve!!! This faucet it easier to remove from underneath than the old one, so I think I’ll use my basin wrench to remove and replace it. Can’t anyone build a good product anymore?!?
After that fiasco, I decided I would modify the pipes on my bike so it’ll be louder. I thought about buying an aftermarket exhaust, but it only adds 2 horsepower, it doesn’t look as good as the stock exhaust (IMHO) and costs $800. So anyhow, while removing the clamp that connects the rear portion of the exhaust to the header, I broke one of the bolts off because some dolt at the Honda factory cross-threaded it! With the bolt broken, the exhaust came off without a problem then I started cutting off the end-caps with my pneumatic cutter only to realize that the stainless steel of the pipes is really hard and my portable air compressor – while really good at running a nail gun – is no good at running a shop tool. I end up being able to cut about 5mm and then waiting for enough pressure to build to continue cutting. Then because I only have two fiberglass cutting discs, I have to call it a night with only 2/3 of one pipe cut.
So two failed projects in one day…Sigh.
